GWP blogspot

This blog is going to be a mix of what I'm up to now, a look back at some of my past favourites, maybe some equipment and technical stuff and whatever else you would like to see...but primarily with a photographic theme.

Salute to talent

Hi All…I hope you are well.

Recently my work has been really diverse, ranging from industrial to the arts. But, despite the diversity, there has been a common theme…talent. People who are really good at what they do…and passionate about it.

Sound familiar? It was the underlying theme of my 2019 portrait exhibition ‘People of Passion’ (see the images under the Print Sales tab). A subject chosen because it is something I enjoy…meeting people, hearing their stories and telling the same with my photos. People haven’t necessarily been the subject recently, but the people behind the projects are the reason the projects exist, and I got to hang out with them while doing the shoots.

Consequently, work didn’t really feel like work…it was actually enjoyable…and if I get shots the client is stoked with that’s a real bonus.

Matt and Andy Jackman of Red Cow organic dairy at Oldina (near Wynyard). Shot for Xero International.

Soon to be opened accommodation at Boat Harbour Beach. Shot for the owners. Model: Olivia Ford

Sandy Gray Winter Gin with special recipe cheesecake by Alexandria Dempsey.

Sandy Gray first edition whiskey. Shot for Sandy Gray Whisky.

Bob and Neil at Sandy Gray have inspired me to pursue another of my passions…beer. I’m having a crack at brewing my own…early days yet…but I will keep you posted.

Cheers.
