This blog is going to be a mix of what I'm up to now, a look back at some of my past favourites, maybe some equipment and technical stuff and whatever else you would like to see...but primarily with a photographic theme.

Winners are grinners!

Hi all.

Well, here we are at the butt end of the year, and have I got some exciting news for you…I won 2023 Employee of the Year… absolutely, amazing! My prize was a steak dinner for two, catered for by my boss. He also provided the beverages, straight from his brewery. He's an awesome guy.

This was obviously a highlight. Other highlights from the year were the birth of another grandson… welcome to the world little Angus. He and Sophie are doing amazingly well. Another highlight would be my birthday trip to Melbourne to catch up with Mark and Ben. It was soured a little at the end by catching COVID, but all in all it was an awesome time.

While in Melbourne I bought a small model of K-9 (the robot dog from Doctor Who). I didn't realise at the time how small the pieces were. As I tried to put it together, I quickly realised I couldn't actually see the bits to put him together. So, I've had to invest in some magnifying goggles. I guess it's just another of the hazards of getting older. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

This week I had the pleasure, for a couple of days, of looking after my granddaughter Gabi. One of the activities we got up to was going for a bit of a walk out to Fern glade. I loaned Gabi my Fuji and let her fire away. She seems to have quite an artistic bent. I'll share a gallery of the photos that she took, and also include one of her artworks from her time with me.

This morning, over breakfast, my ipad alerted me to a ‘Year in review’ it had compiled for me. Curious, (I rarely use my ipad for photos), I had a look. Guess who featured in, (or had taken), most of the pics (and made a video), …Gabi! Kids today.

Thanks for taking an interest in all my ramblings. I’m looking forward to seeing what the new year has in store.

Be nice to each other, stay safe and enjoy the festy season.

I’ll sign off now. The boss is calling for help with a Christmas brew.

Cheers!

Just to clarify…I am self-employed. I am the boss and the only employee. Enjoy the Silly Season. :)
