GWP blogspot

This blog is going to be a mix of what I'm up to now, a look back at some of my past favourites, maybe some equipment and technical stuff and whatever else you would like to see...but primarily with a photographic theme.

A Tardis would be handy

Hi All...welcome back.

I think I must be losing my mind. I was positive that I uploaded a blog last month mentioning the surprise visit from the W.A. Wells clan (among other things) but, apparently not. I apologise. I know how much everyone hangs out for my offerings…LOL …not!

Anyway, as I have already mentioned, my eldest son and his family made a surprise visit from Perth. It was fantastic to catch up with them. I had only recently been pondering when I might see them again as interstate travel is not on our radar in the near future.

What else have I been up to? Ah, yes. I have been dabbling in some woodwork…something that I have always enjoyed. I guess it is something else that fulfils my need to create.

Michelle had mentioned a desire for something in which to display her collection of glass bottle stoppers, so I decided to custom-make a display piece.

I think it turned out pretty well.

I also made a drawer to get some clutter off our kitchen bench. Every kitchen usually has a ‘junk’ drawer…we didn’t…so everything seemed to find itself left on the bench. The solution seems to be working quite well.

Working on these projects again highlighted the frustrations of having no workshop space. I have a small garage which houses my workshop and brewery. This not an ideal mix, but it is the only space I have. Every centimetre is precious. I have lots of things on wheels so I can easily move them to access things specific to the project I am working on. Some things are on pulley systems so they can be hoisted up toward the ceiling when not in use and quite often, I find myself working outside the shed because there just isn’t room. Because of this, I have just fitted an awning above the roll-a-door so I am not so weather dependant. I am yet to test it…fingers crossed.

Photographically, I have still been clicking away with the Bronica and hopefully will have some frames to share next blog. Work wise, I have been photographing Welsh dancers, rippling tarmac, furniture, mining equipment, award ceremonies, storage containers and professional portraits…nothing like a bit of variety .

On the good news front…Ernie is still with us. In fact, he has improved considerably. To the point he is almost normal … well as normal as Ernie can be.

Until next time…be good to each other.

Ciao!
