GWP blogspot

This blog is going to be a mix of what I'm up to now, a look back at some of my past favourites, maybe some equipment and technical stuff and whatever else you would like to see...but primarily with a photographic theme.

Making a splash

Hi All…good to be back for another chat.

I hope you are all well.

I have had the colour roll from the Bronica processed (shots from my photo drive). As it always seems, it’s a bit of a mixed bag in terms of successes versus ‘not-so-good.

The black and white I had in when I went on my little photo trip is also finished and processed. I think I prefer these over the colour. I’ve been using Ektar, but my next colour roll will be Portra 160 and I’m giving HP5 a go on the black and white side of things.

I even took a few frames while on a paid shoot doing promotional portraits for a couple of very talented musos…Maeve and Noah. We had a great little session.

And speaking of great sessions…I had a fabulous day out on the water with the sailing Hollisters. It was great to catch up (I think we worked out it had somehow blown out to 2 years between sails). We had awesome weather and a super special visit from some dolphins.

While on the subject of creatures…we are still fighting the good fight against marauding pademelons. Somehow the little buggers still keep getting in, despite electric fences and assorted obstacles. I have invested in a trail camera to try and find out how and where. I have night vision of the bugger eating our garden, but have yet to catch it ‘breaking in’. The fight goes on!

We have an addition to the family…Boof the Budgie. My granddaughter Gabi (and her dad) rescued Boof from the reeds at the beach at Ulverstone. He wasn’t in a good way. But he has been nursed back to rude health and has settled in well with Bob. They have a very nice new cage (much larger than Bob’s original) and consequently the stand I made has been repurposed as a plant stand. The cats necessitate that the boys be elevated, so I set up a pulley system to hoist the cage up to a ceiling hook (they also have an outdoor setup). It all seems to be working very nicely. Gabi originally named Boof, Bluey (he is a grey budgie) but that was just a bit confusing as Bob is blue and my Kombi was nicknamed Bluey, and he is a much bigger bird than Bob…so he got re-named Boof.

Well there you go folks…a bit of a run down of what I have been up to. Of course there is lots more…but I’ve probably already put you to sleep.

Until next time…be nice to each other.
