This blog is going to be a mix of what I'm up to now, a look back at some of my past favourites, maybe some equipment and technical stuff and whatever else you would like to see...but primarily with a photographic theme.

Takeoff

Hi. Thanks for checking in.

First up a progress report on the exhibition situation. The images have been selected, scanned and are on their way to the printer…can’t wait to see the result.

There has been a bit of a hiccup in the actual handover of the negs to the museum…but that is potentially a rant for another day. I will keep you posted.

On a much more positive note...I have been a long-time supporter of MagMod products (right back to their Kickstarter days) and my experience this week only served to reinforce that decision.

One of my MagGrips has developed a couple of splits around the magnets...I contacted customer support...they responded almost immediately and after a few questions (I had no idea how long I had been using this Grip for as I have purchased various pieces of equipment over a long period of time) Kendle advised they would happily replace it. It is on its way. It is fabulous that a company is so confident in their products that they are willing to do something like this. The customer service was nothing short of brilliant. Thank you MagMod.

Last week I mentioned that one of my Melbourne images was being printed 6-metres wide…here is a shot of the banner, thanks to Tanya at Tuff Turf.

In my post of February 16 I walked you through my bag collection and their respective uses. Well, there has been an addition. In my quest for a bag that will hold a fair bit of gear and still qualify for airline carry-on, I have added a Think Tank Airport Takeoff to the stable. This bag is a bit of a hybrid…it’s a roller bag (great on smooth or paved surfaces) and when the going gets rough it converts to a backpack. I’m still in the process of configuring the internal layout to suit my gear, but I’m looking forward to giving it a proper field test. Check out the bag details here…

The eagle-eyed among you would have spotted the Mavic hiding in the Think Tank…yes, my original drone is still firmly wedged in the tree top…so if anyone is in the market for DJI Phantom 3 Pro spares (batteries, filters etc.) let me know. Going cheap!

Next week I am planning on doing a BTS of a shoot that I am really looking forward to. I am expecting a delivery of a very special bottle and there is no way I can open it without taking a pic first (only time I am likely to have a bottle like this) so I may as well do a proper job of it.

I will share…the pics…not the content J

Until then…stay safe and keep shooting.
