Kitchen Capers

Where have I been? What have I been up to?

Well, if you are a follower of this blog you will know I have been very slack. And I really have no excuses. I am sorry if you have been missing my wit, wisdom and entertaining banter…but I’m sure you will get over it.

One of the things that has had me distracted, is my good friend and ex-Advocate colleague Ben Eyles. We are both notorious for threatening to catch up with each other on a regular basis…we never do. However, things have changed. We are doing a semi-regular vlog where we hook up via Zoom (as is half the world it seems) and generally just talk…it is loosely photography based…but once we start we never know where we will end up. Of course I have been shooting (not as much as I would like…thanks Covid) and there has been heaps of variety…professional portraits, surprise babies, man cave videos and sadly, the mass whale stranding at Strahan.

And for something completely different…I have been demolishing and rebuilding a kitchen. Not mine (so I haven’t had to deal with the mess). My stepson Harry and his lovely wife Allira have been dealing with one of the crappiest kitchens since buying their first house, they saved their pennies and bought a new one…I was volunteered to be principal builder. It has been hard work…the body is not as fit and flexible as it once was…but the end result is pretty schmick…even if I do say so myself.
